General Information
Welcome to Structural Biochemistry class for the first
Summer Session 2001 at the Biology Department at UCSD taught by Dr.
Lukas Buehler. This class is an introduction to various aspects of
structure and function of biologically important macromolecules. These
include proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, and lipids. The course
is divided into 3 major parts covering about three weeks each concluding
with closed book examinations. In addition, the reading and understanding
of current scientific literature is an essential addition to the textbook.
To guide you through the lecture, a class reader is available through soft
reserves. This reader is an outline of the lecture and is meant as a guideline,
not a substitute, for the textbook (Biochemistry, by Voet and Voet). |
