BILD 2: Biology: Multicellular Life Winter Quarter, 2004

Sections: Sections are voluntary and begin the second week. Consult the Winter Schedule of Classes for time and place. You should attend at least one regularly, choosing the one most compatible with your schedule. Feel free to attend more than one per week, if you like. Lecture material will be reviewed, questions answered, problem sets (past exams) discussed.

**A subsequent handout will list the Discussion Sections and T.A.s directing them**

Review Sessions: Conducted by T.A.s (3 hrs) some evening before exams.

Exams & Grading: Two one-hour midterms (each worth a fifth of the course grade) will be given on FRIDAY JAN. 30 & MONDAY FEB. 23. A three-hour comprehensive final (for the remaining three-fifthsof your grade) will be given on Wednesday, March 17 from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm (room to be announced). Exams will emphasize lecture material. Exams will have a mixture of short answer questions, figures and diagrams to draw or interpret, fill in the blank and multiple choice questions. Performance in section will influence borderline decisions.

Policy on Missed Exams: Don't miss them. Illness or unavoidable travel will require documentation. There are no make up exams.

Academic Dishonesty: Cheating or any other form of academic dishonesty is NOT TOLERATED. Any student caught cheating on an exam will receive a ZERO for that exam and will be reported to the dean of his/her college for administrative action.

Teaching Assistants: Names, section times, email addresses will be handed out by the end of the first week of class.
