Division of Biological Sciences

Information for EAP Reciprocity Students

Enrollment

  • Information about how to enroll in courses at UCSD can be found here.

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • UCSD strictly enforces all enrollment and registration deadlines. Information about when the quarter starts, when fees are due, and when students must add or drop classes by can be found on the Enrollment and Registration Calendar (2009-2010).

Wait Lists

  • Students who wish to enroll in a class that is full must place themselves on the wait list. Movement for the wait list is completely student driven, meaning that your chances of getting into a course are dependent on the actions of your fellow students. It is nearly impossible for us to predict student behavior from quarter to quarter, so we cannot predict whether or not you will be added to a wait listed course.
  • The last day to add a course is the end of week two. Students are not permitted to add after the deadline, so if it is absolutely necessary for you to take a Biology course you are encouraged to select an alternate course that is open. HAVE A BACK UP PLAN!
  • For more information about how to wait list a class, click here.

Schedule of Classes

  • Please view the online schedule of classes here.
  • The Division of Biological Science's yearly course offerings can be found through the Undergraduate Information page on our web site.

Prerequisites

  • Prerequisites are not enforced for EAP reciprocity students. If you would like to enroll in a course that you do not meet the prerequisites for you will need to email us at bioprereq@ucsd.edu so that we can waive any prerequisites for you. Please include your name, PID, the course name and section ID number in the email. Also, please keep in mind that prerequisites are there to ensure that students have the skills and background knowledge necessary to succeed in a course. We do not recommend asking for a prerequisite waiver unless you feel adequately prepared to take a course.

Research

  • The UCSD campus is situated among some of the finest research institutions in the world. The Division of Biological Sciences is fortunate in having close ties with the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the Salk Institute of Biological Studies, and the scripps Clinic and Research Institute, all of which open interesting avenues for motivated students.
  • For information about specific research opportunities offered through the Division of Biological Sciences, please visit our Undergraduate Research page or speak with an undergraduate advisor.
