The UCSD Division of Biological Sciences Annual Research Showcase will be held Wednesday, June 1st , 2011 @ 4:30pm in Price Center West, Ballroom B. Students will present their research results during the poster session.
Registration for the 2011 Research Showcase is now closed.
Best Poster awards (and a $75 bookstore gift card) will be given to five students after faculty judge evaluation. Student posters will be scored based on content (innovation, creativity, quality and originality) and communication (how well did the poster present the central theme and results of research, student communicates concisely and clearly, poster covers key points of research and includes important data, student answered questions effectively).
The showcase celebrates the achievements of undergraduate and Masters students conducting research in laboratories across campus. The Division has a strong commitment to providing students with a wide range of possibilities for engaging in scientific inquiry via undergraduate Honors Program (BISP 196) and Individual Research (BISP 199) program. The divisional BS/MS program encourages students to explore and develop as graduate students the skills and talents first acquired during their bachelor's degree at UC San Diego. Such research-based programs foster intellectual curiosity and creativity and allow motivated students to work with researchers at the cutting edge of their respective fields.
It is our educational philosophy that the passion for discovery which research inspires both enriches and bolsters a student's academic experience.
